Promoting well being through the food that we serve…
In 2010, we launched “Olive Life”. This forms part of our sustainable approach to deliver our new Guaranteed Standards for quality of food and service. We are including government guidance on healthy eating in this project and we aim to deliver “Olive Life” to every contract. Our ultimate aim is to influence our customer’s eating habits and to make the healthy choice their first choice. Our commitments, published with the Food Standards agency, are based around four main areas:
- Training and development of the Olive Team in the principles and practices of Olive Life
- Continuously improving our procurement of raw ingredients to help reduce the amounts of sugar, salt and fat in our diets;
- Menu planning to ensure that healthy choices are always available for customers to help them reduce their sugar, fat and salt intake;
- Enhance customer communication and information to allow them to easily make their healthy choices if they so wish.
