Leicestershire, UK. 5 December 2007 - Olive Catering is proud to have supported the Little Hearts Matter at the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC, Birmingham.
Little Hearts Matter aims to provide support for parents and children who have been diagnosed with a single ventricle heart condition such as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, Tricuspid or Pulmonary Atresia or a Univentricular heart.
To promote healthy eating in children, Olive Catering created a recipe for a healthy cookie and mass-produced 15,000 cookies for Little Hearts Matter to hand out at the BBC Good Food Show as part of their National Cookie Bake initiative. The ‘Chip-n-Bean’ cookie is made using oatmeal (contains iron, zinc and vitamin B), soya beans (protein rich) and Flora omega 3 (polyunsaturated fat). The cookies were a huge hit with many parents requesting the recipe and all of the cookies handed out over the course of five days.

“The cookies were hugely popular and helped attract many visitors to our stand. In addition, we were able to spread the healthy eating message to children in a really positive and fun way whilst raising awareness of the needs of children born with only half a heart. Thank you Olive Catering for your invaluable contribution”
